About SepticState

SepticState is a small, independent site based in Bettendorf, Iowa, run by Reid Schroeder. It helps homeowners with septic systems and private wells understand maintenance, common problems and the rules in their state.

We write in plain English, link every state rule to its official source, and note the date we last checked it. If a fact can't be verified, we leave it out.
